An AED Volunteer is any individual whose time, talents and specialized knowledge and other resources are given freely for the achievement of AED's objectives without expectation of financial reward. The volunteer also identifies himself or herself specifically with Agricultural and Agribusiness a tool for creating sustainable businesses and employment to empower the youth.

Your Responsibilities

• Identifying / Interviewing targets (beneficiaries) in their catchment areas to find out about their source of living/employment status and their struggles.

• Research to find and expose the numerous untapped economic potentials in agriculture and agribusiness to increasing the windows of business and job creation opportunities to the advantage of the unemployed and the opportunistic entrepreneurs.

• In special cases: Accompany targets to solve petty issues to get their full attention.

• Planning and hosting Career Development programs and delivering important messages in AED Lectures, Workshops, Seminars and Conferences.

• Arranging national and international fundraising activities to help support more youth to benefit from AED projects.

                                  INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER  

We offer

• Before your departure to Ghana, we will provide an information package for you that also includes advice on visa affairs, health-related questions and other issues.

• Airport pickup and drop off: An AED team member will meet you at the airport upon your arrival and help you get to your accommodation. We want you to feel welcome and at ease right on your first day! Also, when the time comes to leave Ghana, the AED team member will accompany you to the airport for departure.

• City Tour: On your first day, we will show you where you can get on public transportation, buy food, where the bank is, how you get to work and some other places in Accra that you should know.

• Volunteers Housing: AED can help you arrange housing for the period of your stay. We are in contact with people who rent furnished apartments to volunteers. Housing is not included in the volunteer’s fee but is arranged separately.

• Monthly trips: AED’s partner tour organizations offers a special deal for AED volunteers to explore beautiful areas in Ghana. If you like we can arrange for you to go on affordable trips with them.

• Service: A AED contact person will help you with all the questions and difficulties you might face.

                                         Fees

                                                                                                             500 € / 670 $

The duration of our program is minimum 4 weeks, maximum 1 year. The fee is the same regardless of the duration of your stay. The fee will go straight to AED as a general donation. You can tell us your wish for how the money will be used, for example for one of our clubs or for a specific project.
